Cat Poem

exactly fine

the strays keep arriving: now we have 5

cats and they are tenuous, flighty, con-

ceited, naturally bright and awesomely

beautiful.

one of the finest things about cats is

that when you’re feeling bad, very bad—

if you just look at a cat cooling it

the way they do

it’s a lesson in persevering against

the odds, and

if you can look at 5 cats that’s 5

times better.

no matter the dozens of cans of tuna

from the supermarket: it’s fuel for

an untapped dignity—splendid

sleek energy of

YEA

especially when it all becomes too

much: this over-thought upon the

happenings of

humans.
